Rich Black joined OCCU in April of 2013 and is currently the Director of Indirect Business Development, supporting the credit union’s strategic direction by providing leadership and vision to Indirect Business Development. Monitoring indirect lending markets to ensure programs, services and products, meet the present and future needs of the credit union, Rich leads indirect program and product development, vendor management and compliance, loan originations, forecasting, and market analyses. Prior to coming to OCCU, Rich spent more than 30 years in automotive and RV retail, which gives him a unique appreciation of dealer operations and a deep, nuanced, understanding of the dealer-lender relationship. He has authored a “how to” book for those needing a deeper understanding of Indirect Lending, and is a life-long learner holding multiple bachelor’s degrees, an MBA and a JD. A licensed attorney, Rich is member of the California State Bar, Oregon State Bar, and spends a good deal of time doing pro bono work with legal aid organizations and non-profits.
